Members and guests of Business In Gloucestershire got together for fun and fund-raising at their BIG Golf day at Minchinhampton New Course last Friday. Sponsors Randall & Payne joined co-founders Ian Eggleton of Evans Jones LLP, Richard Perry of Charlton Networks and 31 invited guests to raise over £500 in support of Gloucestershire Young Carers. www.glosyoungcarers.org.uk
Russel Byrd of Randall & Payne, Stroud said, " The weather was on our side, making it an enjoyable event and thanks go to Minchinhampton Golf Club for organising such a great day. We wanted to raise money for Gloucestershire Young Carers to support the often unrecognised contribution of young carers in our community. They give up so much to care for their families, meaning they miss their one and only chance of being a child. The current cut backs put such pressure on public expenditure that the significant contribution made by this section of society should not be overlooked."
Gloucestershire Young Carers currently operate a network of fifteen young carers groups across the county. They work with young carers to ensure that service providers understand their needs and respond appropriately. They also provide a listening ear, training for young carers and social activities to give them an opportunity to relax and have fun, away from their caring situation, with other young people in similar circumstances. |
