Champagne celebration for finalists of business awards

The finalists for all categories at the Gloucestershire Business Awards were recently announced and Randall & Payne, headline sponsor of the awards, had the pleasure of welcoming them to a celebration event at their office in Cheltenham on the evening of 13 September 2018.

The organisers and category sponsors had the opportunity to celebrate the success all the finalists have achieved to date. The number of entries were up again this year so it is a testament to the quality of the businesses who have made the final.

This event in the Business Awards calendar is a celebration of success for these finalists, some of who will narrowly miss out on the “crown” on the night. Their achievement to date should not be undervalued and the evening gives the organisers and sponsors the opportunity to say congratulations, giving them the opportunity to celebrate and share their success.

More than 100 guests attended the event, where a cold glass of fizz and canapes were enjoyed before Tim Watkins, Managing Partner of Randall & Payne, and Rachael Sugden, Senior Editor of Gloucestershirelive.co.uk, said a few words about the awards and the finalists.

Tim Watkins commented on the judging process and the difficulty in choosing the finalists as the standard of entry improves year on year.

Tim said: “The numbers of entries increased again this year and, as always, the standard was exceptionally high, making our job as judges more challenging. We have chosen our finalists and we are pleased to be able to celebrate their success at this event.

“Being the headline sponsors gives us a wonderful insight into the amazing diverse businesses we have in Gloucestershire and we are pleased to be part of their continued success.”

Rachael Sugden spoke of the incredible success stories revealed in the entries, the seven to eight hours the judges take to read through all the entries and the three hour meeting in which the judges agree on the finalists for each category.

Senior Editor, Rachael Sugden said: “It is a rigorous and yet rewarding process. Being part of the judging team is also very humbling as you learn all about the county’s industry success stories. From the start-ups who are celebrating their first year and are relishing the opportunity to make a name for themselves to the household names who are continuing to find success in our flourishing region.

“I extend my congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and wish them luck looking forward to trhe event next month.”

Randall & Payne would like to wish all the finalists the best of luck for the awards ceremony, but also want to reinforce to them that their achievement at becoming finalists is also very deserving of celebration. Randall & Payne look forward to seeing all the finalists and sponsors again in three weeks.
