Introducing our corporate charity for 2022 and 2023

They say a New Year brings new opportunities which is definitely the case for our new Corporate Charity.

At the end of 2021 we were pleased to announce that we had, despite the restrictions due to Covid, raised an amazing £18,000 for our corporate charity SCOO-B-DOO. With so many worthy charities in our county, every two years our staff vote to change the charity who benefits from our efforts to fundraise and raise awareness for. As the two years for SCOO-B-DOO, (or three years when a pandemic hinders efforts!), have come to an end, we bid a fond farewell to them and say a huge hello to our new charity, Maggie’s Cheltenham.

Maggie’s Cheltenham was one of a shortlist of three worthy candidates and after a series of presentations, won the staff vote to become the focus of Randall & Payne’s fundraising activities for 2022 and 2023.

Maggie’s is a worldwide charity that provides free support and information to patients and their families in a specially designed centre that becomes a haven for people to take back control when cancer turns their lives upside down. We are fortunate to have our own Maggie’s located at Cheltenham General hospital. They offer a free drop in service where you can sit, relax in a non-clinical environment, talk to the professionals and share your fears or concerns either one-to-one or in one of the many group activities.

We hope to be able to hold some of our face-to-face fundraising events again in 2022, such as our annual quiz, race night or even something new, but whatever we are able to do we look forward to being able to help and support Maggie’s Cheltenham.

In fact, we have already embarked on our first fundraising challenge, with eleven members of our team registering to take part in the Maggie’s 50 mile Challenge. Tim, Andy, Ryan, Karen, Natalia, Shelley, Rob, Mel, Pen, Arul and myself have pledged to run 50 miles over the month of January so we have 450 miles to cover between us. Not all the of us are experienced runners but are all great sports for getting out there and giving it a go. You can follow our efforts on our social media channels.

This is just the start of our journey with Maggie’s Cheltenham and we hope that you will help us to support them during the next two years.
