Three years of fundraising culminates in a new incubator

We are both delighted and extremely proud to have achieved our fundraising target three months ahead of the end of our charity partnership with Scoo-B-Doo who were voted for by our team back in July 2018.

We usually support our chosen charity for two years, but as 2020 was a very unusual year, we had to cancel some of our big fundraisers due to the pandemic. As we pledged to raise enough to buy an incubator for the neonatal unit at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital we decided to extend our support for a further 18 months to enable us to reach our £15,000 target. Now with three months to go we are excited to announce we have achieved it.

Last week, Scoo-B-Doo was the charity partner of the Gloucestershire Live Business Awards which raised £890 via donations from the tables having watched a video of Faye Hatcher of BBC Radio Gloucestershire telling her prematurity story and has taken our total to a whopping £15,237! We would like to thank all our staff, friends and families, as well as clients and other contacts who have kindly donated over these past three years.

This year the team have been busy with individual sporting challenges but at the end of August we did manage to get some of the team together for a rounders game with bar and BBQ hosted by our friends over the road at Hatherley & Reddings cricket club, and encouraging staff to make a donation raised £90.

When it came to the individual challenges, one in particular stood out… Shelley Tomkins from our Audit team took on a 7 hour running challenge dressed in a Scooby-Doo onesie with her fiancé alongside her dressed as Shaggy! She ran over 30 miles in 7 hours and on a ridiculously hot day in mid-July raising an amazing £455 for our cause.

Our biggest fundraiser for 2021 took place in the spring, when whilst working from home, various members of the team took on the Randall & Payne 10K active challenge and walked, ran, cycled and even rowed the 10K distance, together clocking up close to 400km and raising over £1000.

We are now in the process of selecting our corporate charity for 2022/2023. The three charities with the most votes are being invited to send a presentation for the team to watch in order to cast their final vote and the ‘winner’ will be revealed in the next month or so!
