Surelet Property Group helped to organise and have attended a seminar at Randall & Payne in Cheltenham for their lettings agents in respect of forthcoming taxation changes impacting upon residential landlords. In particular the changes to mortgage interest relief that start to take effect from April 2017. These changes will likely see many landlords with an additional income tax bill.
Whilst many will not feel the additional cost until the first extra tax becomes due in January 2019, both Surelet and Randall & Payne are taking a proactive approach to informing landlords of the impact of the changes and helping landlords to achieve their ultimate goals. Identifying potential solutions that may work for their circumstances, whilst minimising tax ethically.
