Technology is no substitute for human relationships

Our  mantra is “We make your success our priority” and it applies just as much to our staff as it does to our clients. We believe in rewarding talent from within and as such are proud to announce eight key promotions this month.

Shaun Pegler and Nikki Cairns have become Client Directors for Accounts, James Geary Client Director for Corporate Tax and Chris Baldwin Client Director for Audit. They are experts in their specialisms and have worked hard over many years, have risen to the recent challenges we are all facing and have been key to delivering a seamless service for our clients.

There are further promotions to celebrate on a managerial level with Ben Burch and Nathan Smith both having been promoted to Audit & Assurance Managers, Emma Robinson is Private Client Tax Manager and Andy Sweet is Accounts Manager.

We’re delighted to announce these promotions, some of whom started with the firm as trainees, having worked their way up, growing in experience, qualifications and as individuals. With the current situation we are pleased to have something positive to share and celebrate. The past few months has seen them all step forward and step up to the challenge and build on the work they were already doing. They are all extremely well deserved and the Partners and I are excited for them.

The promotions are part of us changing the way we work and restructuring our teams to improve communication between our service specialisms in order to offer a more holistic service to our clients. We have a wide breadth of expertise and the knowledge and the ability to provide informed business advisory support to our clients has never been more important.

We are firm believers in embracing the technology that is changing the accounting industry beyond recognition, and we have adapted positively as a result. Our robust systems have allowed us to operate smoothly over the lockdown period.  As part of our strategy we had already started ensuring all our tax clients were using our secure online portal to submit tax information and transfer documents safely, an ideal approach in a lockdown scenario.

Nikki is championing ‘MyWorkpapers’ for our firm, an online industry-proven, born-in-the-cloud platform delivering innovative digital workpapers. This will enable all client workings to be held securely and accessible by the team wherever they are, following the lead of the audit team and the use of Caseware Cloud.

However well technology enhances the role of accountants, it is no substitute for human relationships and face-to-face interaction with someone you can rely on to handle your business needs – we are pleased to nurture and develop a team that you can trust.

Tim Watkins is Managing Partner and always happy to have a chat about any concerns you may have – you can contact him by email on tim.watkins@randall-payne.co.uk or call 01242 776000 and request a call back if he is remote working.
