We hear from the finalists who have achieved success following a pandemic

In a ‘normal’ year we have so much to celebrate within the Gloucestershire business community so this year, following the challenges businesses have faced over the past 18 months, it feels like becoming a finalist for the GloucestershireLive Business Awards is even more of an accomplishment.

As we run through the finalists for the remaining six categories, it feels logical to begin with the start-up category… Every business has to start somewhere and the first few years are the most challenging with many businesses failing in that time, so for those who have achieved success during a pandemic that really is something to be proud of.

GloucestershireLive Start-Up Business Of The Year

The Start-Up Business of The Year award will go to an organisation that has been established within the past two and a half years and demonstrates evidence of entrepreneurship and/or innovation, has defied challenging economic conditions to succeed, grow and thrive and can evidence solid business plans, future growth potential and a determination to succeed. The finalists this year include Cotswold Ice Creams, Leaf Creative Design Ltd, Murdock & Wasley Estate Agents Ltd, Prosperity Care and Wellbeing Ltd and Wembley Partners.

We are delighted to have been nominated and announced as a finalist.

To be recognised in this fashion, in a year with a record number of entries, and one of the most challenging business periods in living history – is an astounding testament to our team. They fully deserve this award after the level of dedication they have poured into their roles and this new business. The impact that their efforts have had on the people we support have been just outstanding.

Wembley Partners, Martyn Gill, Managing Partner

To be recognised by the judging panel as finalists within the Start-up of the Year category is massive for us and has really had a positive impact on the UK team as well as further afield in Canada and the US. We wish the best of luck to all the finalists.
