Workplace Wellbeing Awards

The University of Gloucester was host to the Workplace Wellbeing Awards ceremony yesterday evening to which Randall & Payne were invited to collect a Workplace Wellbeing Charter Award.

Tim Watkins, Managing Partner, and Clare Long, Practice Administration Manager, were delighted to attend the Workplace Wellbeing Awards evening to accept the award on behalf of Randall & Payne.

Speakers at the event included David Owen, Chief Executive of GFirst LEP, Ruth Davies, Director of Human Resources at the University of Gloucestershire, and Sarah Scott, Director of Public Health, Gloucestershire County Council.

Jo Byrd, HR Director at Randall & Payne comments, “Part of Randall & Payne’s HR strategy and business plan had already identified the considerable benefits to both the business and employees to be leveraged from focussing upon employee well-being.

We became aware of the Charter when attending a Wellbeing Conference held at Renishaw and the presentation given by Susan Doran at the event made it apparent to us that going for the charter would provide us with a platform for reflecting upon our workplace wellbeing and engagement with staff. It gave us the opportunity to recognise and celebrate our current good practices and also identify where further improvements could be made.”

More about the Workplace Wellbeing Charter

On average, people in the UK work 36 hours per week, this means that for 46% of each waking day, our working environment is influencing our mood and emotions.

The Charter is a national workplace health, safety and wellbeing award, established in 2009, which has helped well over 1000 organisations benchmark against best-practice standards.

The accreditation includes a range of staff interviews and an audit across eight standards: Leadership, Absence Management, Health and Safety, Mental Health, Smoking, Physical Activity, Healthy Eating and Alcohol.

Organisations receive certification and recognition as an employer of choice, plus advice and recommendations on how to make improvements as part of a comprehensive post-assessment report.
