April is Stress Awareness Month which is an annual event and has been observed since 1992 to increase awareness about the causes and cures of stress.
At Randall & Payne we are fully committed to doing all we can to support the wellbeing of our colleagues. Our aim is to create a mentally healthy workplace where colleagues feel valued and supported. Working in accountancy is often a high pressured environment and roles within the profession often carry considerable responsibility.
The Stress Management Society, a non-profit organisation, is behind Stress Awareness Month whose mission it is to help individuals and organisations recognise and reduce stress, fostering a happier, healthier, and more resilient world.
This year’s theme is #LeadWithLove encouraging us to approach ourselves and others with kindness, compassion, and acceptance, no matter the challenges we face.
Stress affects everyone and by participating in Stress Awareness Month 2025, we hope to:
- Inspire and motivate others to lead with love and take action toward better mental health.
- Increase awareness by learning about the root causes of stress and how it impacts our mental health.
- Access resources, tips, and techniques to manage stress and improve our well-being.
This month we encourage our team to practice acts of love, whether it’s holding the door open for a colleague or being an active listener. We need to check in with each other regularly and celebrate the little wins as well as the bigger ones. These small actions of love can make a big impact. We also remind each other to take time for self-care and show ourselves the same kindness we offer to others.
We have access to wellbeing resources using the Wisdom app from MetLife, our EAP provider, along with 24 hour support covering the three core areas of wellbeing; financial wellbeing, mental wellbeing and physical wellbeing.
Mental Health Awareness Week will take place from 12 to 18 May 2025, and the theme this year is ‘Community’ to celebrate the power and importance of community.
